Kisumu Governor 2027

Dr. Mandela Ogada

The Regeneration of Kisumu

Kisumu stands at a defining moment in its development journey. Persistent challenges such as poverty, access to quality healthcare, education, livelihoods and economic opportunity continue to affect many of our communities. Addressing these challenges requires a whole-of-society approach that brings together citizens, government, the private sector, communities, professionals and development partners. Above all, it calls for a visionary, purposeful, and accountable leadership that translates the aspirations of the people into practical programs that improve lives, expand opportunities and build a prosperous and dignified future for all.

Here is my Story

I come from humble beginnings, like the majority of Kenyans. And I now appreciate the fact that prosperity is not simply about individual success. Prosperity is also about the systems that give ordinary people the opportunity for self-actualization. It entails governance, institutions, infrastructure, innovation, education, healthcare, productive agriculture and the collective effort of society.

while living in Europe, I saw that it is possible for water to flow into people's homes and for electricity to reach every household. It is possible to build effective sewerage and sanitation systems even in rural communities. It is possible for villages to have reliable internet connectivity and innovation hubs. It is possible for industries to create livelihoods and for agriculture to become productive, sustainable and resilient.
